I don’t think I have posted any studio portraits on my blog. Since I posted a studio tour last week, I suppose it is only fitting to post some actual portraits taken there. Since I am primarily a wedding photographer, the studio usually only gets used if I offer the occasional studio mini-session special or newborn session.

(I had to post some photos of my little girl playing the studio…)

We headed over to the Preserve for this sweet couple’s engagement session! It was quite chilly that day, but we were so thankful that the sun was out because it had been raining for days before. Aren’t they just so adorable together! I am looking forward to their upcoming June wedding!

I haven’t posted many personal posts recently… mostly because 1.) I haven’t had the time as my toddler keeps me on the go and 2.) my little toddler HATES the camera and runs the other way. I am so lucky to just get ONE, SINGLE usable shot of my own kid, and if I get one I may or may not do a happy dance. :) Seriously though… photographing your own toddler may be the single most stressful thing on this earth.

Never the less, she is the light of our lives and I love her SO very much!

Deerfoot Baptist Church Wedding | Hannah + Jamie

I can’t even begin to describe the amount of love and emotion that surrounded this couple on their wedding day. All of their friends and family gathered at Deerfoot Baptist Church in Trussville, Alabama to support them on this special day. There was plenty of laughter and plenty of tears, but most of all there was this tangible feeling of love in the air! Their early morning wedding ceremony was so beautiful and touching and I am so thrilled to share these photos with you today!

I am so glad I had the chance to meet this very talented senior and his super sweet mom! This session was a lot of fun. We packed several outfit changes and locations into a brief time, but I couldn’t be happier with the results! Best of luck to this young man after graduation! I think you will be seeing great things from him!

The skies were a little overcast and the ground was still damp from showers that day. Luckily, the rain stopped just minutes before the session, and I was able to spend the afternoon at the Birmingham botanical gardens with this totally adorable couple!

I absolutely can not wait until their June wedding!

Tannehill State Park Engagement Session | Tiffany + Jordan

It wound up being un-seasonably warm for this engagement session, which worked out in our favor. The weather gave off a nice autumn atmosphere even though we were already into winter.

Tiffany and Jordan are such an adorable couple! We had so much fun joking around and the session was so laid back.
The laid back vibe stemmed from their relationship… They were so just comfortable and cute with each other! That it definitely showed on camera and made them look like total photo-shoot naturals! :)

Gorgeous Wedding at Historic Rucker Place | Terri + Trent

Remember this gorgeous couple from this engagement session?

Their wedding was equally as gorgeous and so romantic!

Both the ceremony and reception took place at the Historic Rucker Place, located downtown.

It is the perfect venue for a bride who is looking for a location that exudes southern charm! Not only is the venue beautiful, but the service you receive there is impeccable. Jeannene Griesbach, the wedding coordinator, kept everything so organized and took such good care of everyone!

The couple shared a romantic “first look” in the entry to garden/courtyard area of Rucker Place.

The beautiful bouquets and floral arrangements were all done by the incredibly talented, Laure Friedman, of LSL Event Design.

Rucker Place has so many wonderful places for photographs.

Terri looked so beautiful on her wedding day!

One of my favorite parts of the wedding day is capturing the groom’s face when he sees his bride coming down the aisle.
The amazing and intricately designed cakes were done by Edgar’s bakery.
The food for the reception was catered by Savoie catering and it was SO yummy!

Yep… that is yummy jelly (for your biscuits)!

What a sweet and southern way to thank your guests!
I love this little hide-a-way room at the Rucker place.
It is such a great little area for the bride and groom to get way. take a breath, and enjoy each other’s company before heading back to the party!
